New developments in PEST shape/property hybrid descriptors
نویسندگان
چکیده
Recent investigations have shown that the inclusion of hybrid shape/property descriptors together with 2D topological descriptors increases the predictive capability of QSAR and QSPR models. Property-Encoded Surface Translator (PEST) descriptors may be computed using ab initio or semi-empirical electron density surfaces and/or electronic properties, as well as atomic fragment-based TAE/RECON property-encoded surface reconstructions. The RECON and PEST algorithms also include rapid fragment-based wavelet coefficient descriptor (WCD) computation. These descriptors enable a compact encoding of chemical information. We also briefly discuss the use of the RECON/PEST methodology in a virtual high-throughput mode, as well as the use of TAE properties for molecular surface autocorrelation analysis.

A new shape retrieval method using the Group delay of the Fourier descriptors
In this paper, we introduced a new way to analyze the shape using a new Fourier based descriptor, which is the smoothed derivative of the phase of the Fourier descriptors. It is extracted from the complex boundary of the shape, and is called the smoothed group delay (SGD). The usage of SGD on the Fourier phase descriptors, allows a compact representation of the shape boundaries which is robust ...
متن کاملبازیابی مبتنی بر شکل اجسام با توصیفگرهای بدست آمده از فرآیند رشد کانتوری
In this paper, a novel shape descriptor for shape-based object retrieval is proposed. A growing process is introduced in which a contour is reconstructed from the bounding circle of the shape. In this growing process, circle points move toward the shape in normal direction until they get to the shape contour. Three different shape descriptors are extracted from this process: the first descript...
متن کاملHybrid boundary-medial shape description for biologically variable shapes
Knowledge about the biological variability of anatomical objects is essential for statistical shape analysis and a discrimination between healthy and pathological structures. This paper describes ongoing research on a novel approach that incorporates variability of a training set into the generation of a characteristic 3D shape model. The proposed shape representation is a hybrid of a fine-scal...

متن کاملEvaluation of otolith shape variability in hatchery-reared brook trout (Salvelinus fontinalis), Black Sea trout (Salmo trutta labrax) and their hybrid
In aquaculture, the process of hybridization is used to produce animals that have better growth rates, meat quality, and higher resistance and tolerance to environmental variations than their parental species. The identification of a hybrid fish may require a DNA-based technology that is an expensive process. In this study, the sagittal otolith shape of hatchery-reared brook trout (Salvelinus f...
